Mario Acosta-Cevallos is a multi-title world salsa champion, Canadian Latin-American Ballroom Finalist and sought after coach & dance instructor.

With over 20 years of dance experience—having trained in ballet, jazz, contemporary, ballroom, and salsa—Mario wins audiences’ hearts with captivating and technical performances.

Currently, Mario resides in Melbourne, Australia and most recently toured nationally with the sold out show, Matador, produced by Bass Fam Creative.

10 time World Salsa Champion, Mario Acosta-Cevallos earned his prestigious reputation, from building himself to be an internationally recognized all round performer. Born in Edmonton, Canada, in September 1993, Mario’s latin heritage encouraged him to begin dancing from a young age. He joined the world salsa federation in 2000 and since has refined his dance techniques, training with coaches such as Billy Fajardo, Tito Ortos, Tamara Livolsi, Anya Katsevman, Rodrigo Cortazar, John Narvaez, Liz Rojas, Jennifer Izquierdo, and many others. His career was sparked into a whirlwind of success when he started by winning his first world championships in 2010 at the World Latin Dance Cup.

In 2013 Mario founded and directed SalsaVitus dance company and after travelling internationally to events such as Israeli Latin Dance Cup, Shanghai Latin Festival, L.A. Salsa Congress, IDO world cup Korea, Canada Salsa Congress and Australian Dance Cup he began his journey with LocoMojo Dance in Melbourne, Australia. As well as continuing to compete at an international level and attend international events as a guest instructor, Mario pushed himself into the commercial Dance Industry. His most recent credits include Matador the Show Original Cast, Matador - The National Tour, Crown Casinos Entertainment, Natscha Bessez Australian Tour, and more.

The dynamic, technical and extremely passionate dancer and instructor that is Mario Acosta-Cevallos, is growing his international reputation as a highly talented dancer whilst also working alongside new and existing partners to open the doors to students who want to learn the art of salsa dance from him.
